- An institution called Lokpal at the centre and Lokayukta in each state will be set up.
- Like the Supreme Court and the Election Commission, they will be completely independent of the governments. No minister or bureaucrat will be able to influence their investigations.
- Cases against corrupt people will not linger on for years anymore: Investigations in any case will have to be completed in one year. The trial should be completed in the next year so that the corrupt politician, officer or judge is sent to jail within two years.
- The loss that a corrupt person caused to the government will be recovered at the time of conviction.
- How will it help a common citizen: If the work of any citizen is not done in the prescribed time in any government office, the Lokpal will impose a financial penalty on guilty officers, which will be given as compensation to the complainant.
- The members will be selected by judges, citizens and constitutional authorities and not by politicians, through a completely transparent and participatory process.
- CVC (Central Vigilance Commission), departmental vigilance and anti-corruption branch of the Central Bureau of Investigation will be merged into the Lokpal. The Lokpal will have complete powers and machinery to independently investigate and prosecute any officer, judge or politician.
- It will be the duty of the Lokpal to provide protection to those who are being victimised for raising their voice against corruption.

- - इस बिल में भ्रष्टाचार के आरोपों की जांच के लिए केंद्र में लोकपाल और राज्य में लोकायुक्तों की नियुक्ति का प्रस्ताव है.
- - इनके कामकाज में सरकार और अफसरों का कोई दखल नहीं होगा. - भ्रष्टाचार की कोई शिकायत मिलने पर लोकपाल और लोकायुक्तों को साल भर में जांच पूरी करनी होगी.
- - अगले एक साल में आरोपियों के ख़िलाफ़ केस चलाकर क़ानूनी प्रक्रिया पूरी की जाएगी और दोषियों को सज़ा मिलेगी.
- - यही नहीं भ्रष्टाचार का दोषी पाए जाने वालों से नुकसान की भरपाई भी कराई जाएगी.
- - अगर कोई भी अफसर वक्त पर काम नहीं करता जैसे राशन कार्ड या ड्राइविंग लाइसेंस नहीं बनाता तो उस पर जुर्माना लगाया जाएगा.
- - 11 सदस्यों की एक कमेटी लोकपाल और लोकायुक्त की नियुक्ति करेगी.
- - लोकपाल और लोकायुक्तों के खिलाफ आरोप लगने पर भी फौरन जांच होगी.
- - जन लोकपाल विधेयक में सीवीसी और सीबीआई के एंटी करप्शन डिपार्टमेंट को आपस में मिलाने का प्रस्ताव है.
- - साथ ही जन लोकपाल विधेयक में उन लोगों को सुरक्षा देने का प्रस्ताव है जो भ्रष्टाचार के ख़िलाफ़ आवाज़ उठाएंगे.
